Instructions
Cutting Strips – For each fabric
1. To straighten raw edges of fabric, fold fat quarter in half crosswise, 11" x 18". Place ruler close to right edge of fabric (opposite for left handers). Line up grid lines on ruler with fold of fabric. Rotary cut along edge of ruler, walking your fingers and thumb across ruler as you cut. Apply firm pressure. (Figure A)

2. To cut a strip, turn cutting mat so fabric is on right (opposite for left handers). Place ruler over cut edge of fabric 1½" from edge. Make sure vertical lines of ruler are parallel to cut edge of fabric. Horizontal lines of ruler should be parallel to fold of fabric. Cut strip. (Figure B)

3. Cut 3 strips, 1½" wide, from each of 7 fabrics.
